Liposuction

Achieve a Contoured, Sculpted Look with Liposuction

Liposuction removes stubborn fat from specific areas of the body, helping to create a more sculpted and defined appearance. It is a suitable option for those who have difficulty achieving their desired shape through diet and exercise alone. This procedure targets areas such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, and hips, providing a tailored approach to body contouring.

FAQs

Is there a Medicare rebate available?

Unfortunately, as Liposuction is classed as an elective surgery there are no rebates available.

Can I undergo Liposuction with other surgeries at the same time?

In many cases, it is possible to undergo multiple cosmetic procedures at the same time depending on the other treatment and your surgeon’s recommendation. Combining procedures can reduce overall recovery time and minimise anaesthesia sessions.

How much down time is needed?

After Liposuction, we recommend 1 week off from work, with the ability to resume light activities. Full recovery usually takes about 6 weeks.

What are the risks?

All surgery carries potential risks of complications such as infection, scarring, and allergic reactions. Choosing an experienced surgeon and discussing potential risks can help minimise these concerns. For a more extensive list of Risks and Complications that relate to Liposuction, please see our Patient Resources.

Is the procedure painful?

While surgery itself is not painful due to anaesthesia, there may be some discomfort during the recovery process. Pain levels vary depending on the procedure, but Dr Preketes will provide pain management options to help minimise discomfort during healing.
