Gynacomastia

Gynacomastia (enlargement of the male breast), it may affect one or both breasts. The development of breast tissue is influenced by hormones called oestrogens and are usually at a low level in men. Most that males experience gynacomastia during puberty will grow out of it around the age of 20. Older men can also develop gynacomastia due to changes in metabolism and cause a slight increase in oestrogen production. Gynacomastia may also be a result of liver disease, medication taken for other health problems, non-prescription medication such as steroids or changes in the production of male and female hormones due to a variety of causes.
